Ingredients:

1.50 cups all-purpose white wheat flour
190g
1/3 cup powdered sugar
55g
1/2 cup butter
110g
4 eggs
200g
1 tbsp water
16g
3/4 cup sugar
150g
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
120g
2 tbsp lemon zest
30g
1/2 cup lemon juice
100g
2 passion fruits
80g

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Crust:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1.5 cups flour and 1/3 cup powdered sugar.
3. Add the chilled butter cubes and blend them into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add 1 tbsp water and mix until the dough comes together.
5. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch tart pan, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
6. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent it from puffing up during baking.
7. Bake for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool while preparing the filling.
2. Prepare the Filling:
1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs and 3/4 cup sugar until well combined.
2. Add the 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 tbsp lemon zest, and 1/2 cup lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
3. Scoop out the pulp and seeds from 2 passion fruits and add them to the mixture. Stir to combine.
3. Assemble the Tart:
1. Pour the filling mixture into the pre-baked tart crust.
2. Place the tart back into the preheated oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden on top.
4. Cool and Serve:
1. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
2. Once cooled, remove the tart from the pan.
3. Serve at room temperature or chilled, as desired. Optionally, garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar or additional passion fruit pulp before serving.

Tips:

- Chill the Dough: Ensure your tart crust is flaky by chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This helps the butter to solidify and gives you a more manageable dough.

- Strain the Passionfruit: To avoid seeds in your tart filling, strain the passionfruit pulp through a fine sieve. This ensures a smooth and creamy texture.

- Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor, use fresh lemons and passionfruits. Fresh ingredients will provide a more vibrant and authentic taste.

- Prevent Overbaking: Watch your tart closely while it bakes to prevent overbaking. The filling should be set but still slightly jiggly in the center when you take it out of the oven.

- Cool Completely: Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing. This allows the filling to set properly and makes for cleaner slices.

Your Passionfruit Tart is now complete and ready to enjoy! This tropical treat is perfect for any occasion, from family gatherings to elegant dinner parties. The tangy and sweet flavor profile will leave a lasting impression on anyone who tries it.
