Ingredients:

1 cup hazelnuts

- Toast the nuts in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
- Remove the nuts from the oven and let them cool. Once cooled, roughly chop them, if desired.
2. Prepare the Caramel:
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, add 2 cups sugar.
- Stirring occasionally, allow the sugar to melt and caramelize. This will take about 10-15 minutes. The sugar will first turn clear, then golden-brown. Watch it closely towards the end to prevent burning.
3. Combine Caramel and Nuts:
- Once the sugar has reached a rich amber color, remove the saucepan from the heat immediately.
- Quickly add the 2 tbsp butter into the caramel, stirring briskly until the butter has melted and is fully combined.
4. Add the Nuts:
