Rich chocolate fudge cake

Indulge yourself in the ultimate dessert experience with this Rich Chocolate Fudge Cake. This decadent cake is perfect for celebrations or satisfying your sweet cravings. Made with a blend of dark and milk chocolate, it offers a rich, dense, and fudgy texture that chocolate lovers will appreciate.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
220g
1/2 cup milk (1% fat)
120g
1 cup dark chocolate
230g
2 cups sugar
400g
1 cup self-raising flour
150g
1 cup all-purpose white wheat flour
120g
1/3 cup dry cocoa powder
50g
2 eggs
100g
2 cups milk chocolate
460g
1 cup heavy whipping cream
230g

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
2. Melt Chocolate and Butter:
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 1 cup of butter along with the 1 cup of dark chocolate. Stir continuously until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 1/2 cup of milk (1% fat), and 2 eggs. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture, stirring continuously until well combined.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In another bowl, sift together the 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of self-raising flour, 1 cup of all-purpose white wheat flour, and 1/3 cup of dry cocoa powder.
5. Mix Together:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the cake dense.
6. Bake:
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
7. Cool the Cakes:
- Once the cakes are done, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them onto wire racks to cool completely.
8. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
- In a medium saucepan, heat the 1 cup of heavy whipping cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
- Place the 2 cups of milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth and fully combined. Let it cool until it thickens slightly but is still pourable.
9. Assemble the Cake:
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand. Spread a layer of chocolate ganache over the top.
- Place the second cake layer on top and pour the remaining ganache over the entire cake, allowing it to drip over the sides.
10. Serve:
- Let the ganache set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Slice and serve the rich chocolate fudge cake. Enjoy!

Tips:

- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and a rich texture.

- Make sure the butter is at room temperature before you start mixing; this ensures a smooth batter.

- Sift the cocoa powder and flour to avoid any lumps and ensure a smooth batter.

- Do not overmix the batter once you add the flour, as this can make the cake dense.

- Let the cake cool completely in the pan before turning it out to prevent it from breaking.

- Refrigerate the cake for at least an hour before serving for a firmer texture and more intense chocolate flavor.

Your Rich Chocolate Fudge Cake is now ready to be served. With its dense, fudgy texture and intense chocolate flavor, this cake is sure to become a favorite. Enjoy it on its own or pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Happy baking!
