Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Combine the flours (self-raising and all-purpose) in a separate bowl. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing just until combined.
5. Mix in the lime zest and lime juice gently until incorporated.
6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Prepare the whipped cream frosting: In a large cold mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
9. Assemble the cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of the whipped cream over the top. Scatter half of the raspberries, blueberries, and sliced strawberries over the whipped cream.
10. Top with the second cake layer. Spread the remaining whipped cream on top and sides of the cake. Decorate the top with the remaining berries.
11. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
