3 oz cheddar cheese

- Add the bacon strips and cook until crispy, turning occasionally. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Bread:
- While the bacon is cooking, spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
3. Assemble the Sandwich:
- Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Immediately add half of the shredded or sliced cheddar cheese on top of the bread.
- Add the cooked bacon strips on top of the cheese.
- Place the remaining cheese on top of the bacon.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
4. Grill the Sandwich:
- Cook the sandwich until the bottom slice is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt, about 3-4 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula.
- Continue cooking until the other side is also golden brown and the cheese is fully melted, another 3-4 minutes. If necessary, press down lightly with the spatula for even grilling.
5. Add the Fresh Ingredients:
- Once the sandwich is done grilling, remove it from the skillet and place it on a cutting board.
- Carefully open the sandwich and add the tomato slices and lettuce leaf.
6. Serve:
