Instructions:

- In a large pot, heat the 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

3. Add Aromatics:
- Add the minced garlic and finely chopped red hot chili peppers to the pot.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
4. Cook Chicken:
- Add the diced chicken breasts to the pot.
- Cook until the chicken pieces are browned on all sides and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
5. Spice it Up:
- Stir in the 1 tsp turmeric powder and 2 tsp ground cumin.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes.
- Mix well to ensure the spices and tomatoes are evenly distributed and cook for another 2 minutes.
6. Incorporate Lentils and Barley:
- Stir in the 1/2 cup of canned lentils and 2 tablespoons of pearl barley.
7. Simmer the Soup:
- Pour in the 6 cups of chicken gravy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the barley is cooked and the flavors are well blended.
8. Finish with Lime Juice:
- Stir in the 2 tablespoons of lime juice.
