Ingredients:

4 chicken breasts
580g
2 tsp salt
12g
1 tsp black pepper
2.10g
1 tsp garlic powder
3.10g
6 slices ham
170g
4 slices provolone cheese
110g
1 cup all-purpose white wheat flour
120g
2 eggs
100g
1 cup bread crumbs
110g
8 spears broccoli
250g
4 tbsp olive oil
55g

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Chicken:
- Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
3. Layer the Filling:
- On each chicken breast, place 1.5 slices of ham.
- Then place 1 slice of provolone cheese on top of the ham.
4. Roll the Chicken:
- Starting from the narrow end of each chicken breast, carefully roll up the chicken, ham, and cheese.
- Secure each roll-up with toothpicks to hold them together.
5. Set Up Breading Stations:
- Place the flour in one shallow dish.
- Beat the eggs in a second shallow dish.
- Place the bread crumbs in a third shallow dish.
6. Bread the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken roll-up in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured roll-up into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is well-coated.
- Finally, roll in the bread crumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
7. Cook the Chicken:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the breaded chicken roll-ups to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- If needed, add the remaining olive oil to the skillet while browning.
8. Bake:
- Transfer the skillet with the browned chicken roll-ups to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
9. Prepare the Broccoli:
- While the chicken is baking, steam the broccoli spears until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
10. Serve:
- Once the chicken roll-ups are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Remove the toothpicks before serving.
- Serve the chicken roll-ups with steamed broccoli on the side.

Tips:

- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness to ensure even cooking and easier rolling.

- Use toothpicks to secure the roll-ups if they tend to unravel during cooking.

- Feel free to substitute provolone cheese with Swiss, mozzarella, or your favorite cheese.

- For a healthier alternative, use whole wheat flour and bread crumbs.

- Ensure the oil is hot enough before placing the chicken roll-ups in the pan to achieve a crispy crust.

- For extra flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or parsley to the bread crumbs.

Your ham and cheese chicken roll-ups are now ready to be enjoyed! The succulent chicken, savory ham, and gooey cheese filling, all enveloped in a crispy coating, make for a delicious and satisfying meal. Serve with steamed broccoli or your favorite side dish for a balanced and delightful dining experience.
