Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this recipe brings together the wonderful tastes of soy sauce, sake, and a hint of ginger, making it a tantalizing meal for the whole family.

Ingredients:

4 beef fillets beef fillet
800g
2 cups green beans
460g
1 onion
160g
2 tbsp peanut oil
30g
2 red hot chili peppers
80g
1/2 cup soy sauce
120g
2 tsp sugar
10g
1/3 cup sake
72g
2 garlic cloves
6g
1 tsp ginger root
5g

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Beef
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, sake, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 1 hour for more intense flavor.
2. Cook the Green Beans
- While the beef is marinating, heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the green beans and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, until they start to soften but still retain a bit of their crunch.
- Remove the green beans from the skillet and set aside.
3. Stir-fry the Onion and Chilies
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of peanut oil.
- Add the sliced onion and red hot chili peppers. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and the peppers are fragrant.
4. Cook the Beef
- Increase the heat to high. Add the marinated beef strips to the skillet with the onion and chili mixture. Discard any remaining marinade.
- Stir-fry the beef for about 3-4 minutes, or until it is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
5. Combine and Finish
- Add the cooked green beans back into the skillet with the beef mixture.
- Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the green beans to heat through.
6. Serve
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving platter or individual plates.
- Optionally, garnish with some sesame seeds or chopped green onions for extra flavor and presentation.
- Serve immediately with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.

Tips:

- For a more intense flavor, marinate the beef fillets in the soy sauce, sake, sugar, garlic, and ginger mixture for a few hours or overnight.

- Use fresh, crisp green beans for the best texture and flavor.

- Adjust the amount of red hot chili peppers to suit your preferred spice level.

- Slice the beef fillets thinly against the grain for tender pieces that cook quickly.

- Make sure the wok or pan is very hot before adding the beef to ensure a nice sear without overcooking.
