- Cut the Italian sausage into bite-sized pieces.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm the pita bread later.
2. Cooking the Sausage:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter.
- Add the cut Italian sausage and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once browned, remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
3. Cooking the Grapes:
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
- Add the grapes and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and some of them begin to burst.
4. Creating the Sauce:
- Pour the red wine and vinegar into the skillet with the grapes.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.
- Add the cooked sausage back into the skillet and stir to combine. Let it cook together for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
5. Warming the Pita Bread:
- While the sausage and grape mixture is finishing up, place the pita breads in the preheated oven.
- Warm the pita breads for about 5 minutes or until they are soft and pliable.
6. Serving:
- Once the sausage and grape mixture is ready, remove it from heat.
- Serve the sausage and grapes mixture hot, alongside the warm pita breads.
- You can either spoon the sausage and grapes onto the pita breads to make small sandwiches, or serve the pita breads on the side to scoop up the mixture.
