Strawberry jelly

Fresh strawberry jelly is a delightful and refreshing dessert that perfectly captures the essence of ripe strawberries. It's a light, juicy, and naturally sweet treat that's ideal for warm weather and can be a great addition to any dessert table. Using simple and fresh ingredients, you can easily create this delicious jelly at home.

Ingredients:

2 cups strawberries
320g
1/2 cup orange juice
120g
1/2 cup water
120g
2 tbsp sugar
30g
2 tbsp gelatin powder
30g

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Strawberries:
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly.
- Hull and chop the strawberries into small pieces.
2. Blend the Mixture:
- Place the chopped strawberries in a blender.
- Add the orange juice and water to the blender.
- Blend the mixture until smooth. If you prefer, you can strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds.
3. Sweeten the Puree:
- Pour the strawberry puree into a saucepan.
- Add the sugar and heat the mixture over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
4. Prepare the Gelatin:
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over 1/4 cup of cold water to let it bloom. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Once bloomed, gently heat the gelatin mixture until it becomes liquid, either in the microwave for about 15 seconds or over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method). Do not boil.
5. Combine Gelatin and Strawberry Mixture:
- Remove the hot strawberry mixture from the heat.
- Gradually pour the liquid gelatin into the strawberry mixture while stirring constantly to ensure it's well combined.
6. Set the Jelly:
- Pour the mixture into molds or a shallow dish.
- Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours, or until the jelly is fully set.
7. Serve:
- Once set, remove the jelly from the molds or cut it into desired shapes if set in a dish.
- Serve chilled, as a dessert or a fresh treat.

Tips:

- Choose Fresh Strawberries: Opt for ripe and juicy strawberries to get the best flavor. Fresh strawberries will ensure your jelly is bursting with natural sweetness.

- Gelatin Dissolution: Make sure to dissolve the gelatin completely in the liquid to avoid any lumps. You can do this by sprinkling the gelatin powder over a small amount of cold water first, allowing it to bloom, and then mixing it with the heated liquid.

- Sweetness Adjustments: Adjust the amount of sugar to suit your taste. If you prefer a sweeter jelly, you can add more sugar. For a healthier option, reduce the sugar or use a natural sweetener like honey.

- Chilling Time: Allow adequate time for the jelly to set in the refrigerator. It's best to refrigerate it for at least 4-6 hours or overnight for best results.

- Serving Suggestions: Serve the jelly with a dollop of whipped cream, or garnish with fresh mint leaves or extra strawberry slices for an elegant touch.

Enjoy your homemade fresh strawberry jelly – a tasty and vibrant dessert that not only looks great but tastes amazing too. Perfect for a fancy dinner party or a casual family treat, this jelly is sure to be a hit with everyone.
