7. Combine with Parmesan: Stir 1/2 cup of the grated parmesan cheese into the sauce. Allow it to melt and blend in completely. Save the remaining 1/2 cup for the topping.
8. Assemble the Dish: Lightly grease an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking dish. Arrange half of the potato slices in an even layer in the bottom of the dish. Pour half of the sauce over the potatoes, spreading it evenly. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and sauce.
